Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful evening with their friends and family!
Now is the time to start fresh. I always feel like the New Year is a clean slate---a time to make better decisions and focus on the year that lies ahead. I try not to overwhelm myself with resolutions, many of which I will break within the first month of the new year. This coming year I am focusing my energy on: being the best person I can be---I know, sounds like a BIG one! I am going to start each day with one idea on how I can be my best self, for example, 'take a deep breath when my son throws a tantrum,' or 'be a good listener,' or 'take 20 minutes to myself today,' or 'put my phone in the other room when I play with my son'.
As I think about, being my best self, I can't help but think about this quote from one of my yoga classes: “Your smile is your logo, your personality is your business card, how you leave others feeling after having an experience with you becomes your trademark.” (by: Jay Danzie) This quote reminds me how big my impact is on others, especially my friends and family. Hopefully you find inspiration in my new years theme and maybe it will help you find your focus!
