Hello All! Hopefully everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday!
As I reflected on my Thanksgiving events, aside from the craziness of family and travel and eating too much, there is so much to truly be thankful for. I am sure we all have people in our lives or strangers we hear about via the news or even facebook that are going through difficult times. I know I am constantly reminded by these stories how lucky/thankful I am.
Just the other day I was talking to a friend and she was telling me about some troubles a good friend of hers was going through. For a moment I really tried to put myself in her friend's shoes. I thought how stressful, exhausting, upsetting---you name it---all the emotions she must be going through. It made me realize that the boring days (you know what I mean, the typical days: work, taking care of kids, making dinner, day-to-day errands, etc.) were really GREAT DAYS! A day where your main stress comes from trying to get everyone out the door on time and getting dinner on the table are GREAT DAYS! Please do not get me wrong, I know that in the hustle-bustle of the day can be exhausting and stressful but in the big picture the days that are pretty uneventful and even boring are the good ones. There are so many people that would simply wish for a boring day.
So the next time you find yourself thinking, 'oh what a blah day' --just a day where nothing major happened---be thankful! I am really going to try to focus on this idea, especially during this holiday season.
Enjoy issue #65 and I hope you have a drama-free, almost boring weekend :)
